· Membership is non-transferable.
· Initiation fee is non-refundable.
· Initiation fee is a one-time fee so long as membership is continuous. Should membership lapse more than 30 days, a new initiation fee will be charged.
· Membership can be terminated or changed at any time for quarterly or annual members. For monthly members, notice must be received in writing prior to the 20th of the month prior to the month the change or termination is to take effect.
· If you re-join the Madison YMCA at a later time a new initiation fee will be charged.
· All membership refunds are on a pro-rated basis from the date that the request is approved. A $10 processing fee will be charged for all requests.
· Memberships in their entirety may be placed on hold for medical reasons or business/international travel. Notice must be received in writing on letterhead from issuing authority with dates of excuse. No adjustments will be made retroactively. For medical excuses, a clearance note is required upon return.
· All members consent to the release of photos of the member and/or family for possible publication.
· Lost membership cards are kept at the front desk. Should a replacement for a lost card be needed, a $5.00 replacement fee will be charged.
· A fee of $30 will be charged for all returned items, including monthly bank drafts.
· Program credits may be requested up until the start of the third class. An internal credit that can be used towards any YMCA program or service will be issued. After the start of the third class no credit will be issued. Participants are charged for all classes on a pro-rated basis from the time the credit applications received. Additionally a $10 processing fee will be charged for all requests. We do our best to expedite requests, however, credits may take up to 3 weeks to process.
· Redemption: Once approved, your credit may be applied to your next YMCA service or program. All credits expire 1 year from date of issue
· Program refunds will only be issued if the YMCA cancels a program or with a signed medical excuse from a physician, or if membership is cancelled in conjunction with program withdrawal.
· Classes cancelled due to inclement weather or facility closings due to inclement weather are not eligible for a refund or make-up class, although Program Directors may offer participants the option to participate in an alternative class if circumstances permit.
· Babysitting, personal training, massage and nutrition coupons expire 1 year from date of purchase.
· All members, including children, are required to present valid YMCA identification when checking into the facility or participating in programs. Non-members are required to sign in upon entering the facility. Check-in is required each and every time you enter the facility.
· The Madison Area YMCA is not responsible for any personal property lost or stolen while using YMCA facilities. It is recommended that members not bring valuables to the YMCA and when doing so members provide their own locks to secure items.
· Small lockers (for keys, etc.) are available for use while in the YMCA; see the Front Desk to receive a token. For locker room lockers, members are required to provide their own lock. Lockers are only to be used while in the facility; a limited number of kit lockers are available for rental for storage of items while not utilizing the YMCA. Kit Lockers expire from 1 year of rental.
· The use of mobile phones is permitted in marked areas only. Phones are prohibited in locker rooms, bathrooms and program areas, and the fitness center.
· The YMCA is a tobacco- and alcohol-free facility. No smoking or drinking is permitted on YMCA grounds.
· YMCA staff reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership privileges for inappropriate behavior at any time.
· Children under the age of 10 are not permitted in the YMCA without an adult.
· Curbside drop off for children under the age of 10 is not permitted.
· Children 10 & 11 years old are permitted to walk siblings & themselves directly to classes.
· Children 12 years and older are permitted to use the facility without an adult.
· Children 11 years and younger must be picked-up from classes by an adult..
· School age children under 18 must use the appropriate gender youth locker room; use of adult locker rooms is not allowed.
· Children age 6 and under use the appropriate gender youth locker room of the accompanying parent.
· Vehicles may not be left unattended in the turn-around. Parking lot is to be used for YMCA use only.
· Photo/video taking is strictly prohibited, unless prior approval is granted by the Madison YMCA Marketing department.
· Speak in respectful tones, excluding the use of vulgar or derogatory language.
· Respect the property of others, including that of the YMCA; do not engage in theft or destruction of that property.
· Appropriate dress is required at all times.
· Create a safe, caring environment for all.
· Please assist us in keeping our facility tidy.
· Please refrain from yelling.
· Please refrain from running in the halls and lobby, or using recreational equipment in the halls and lobby.
· No recreational skates.
· Members, 12 years of age and older, may use the Fitness Center upon completion of a Health Questionnaire and orientation. New members receive three complimentary orientations, which are scheduled through the Fitness Desk. Children must be the appropriate age to register for a class. Children who are enrolled in classes designed for younger or older children will not be allowed to attend class. If space permits, the child will be switched to the appropriate class.
· Group cycling classes require reservations 24 hours to the minute in advance by calling 973-822-YMCA (9622). Due to the demand for these classes, please arrive on time or your spot may be given to an alternate member.
· Racquetball reservations can be taken up to 2 weeks in advance.
Nanny Policy: Nanny/Caregiver of Family Members only may accompany children to parent/child classes and to Kids Central Open Play time weekdays for a nominal annual fee. Family members may change caregiver at any time, but must pay an additional fee to add concurrent caregivers. Caregiver must be an Adult Member to use the facility.
Membership is only valid while still a current employee of the member’s family & is fully transferable upon change of Care Giver who must adhere to the Madison Area YMCA Code of Conduct.
