Keep Your Valuables Safe

At this time of year, communities generally see an increase in petty theft from public areas and unsecured vehicles. With this in mind, we ask you to be aware and mindful of your personal items. We also advise our members NOT to bring unnecessary valuables to the Y. If you bring valuables, please secure your items in a locked locker. Below, are five tips for a safe and happy holiday season.

5 TIPS:

  1. Bring your family and guests, and leave other valuables at home.
  2. All belongings should be appropriately secured in locker rooms or locked lockers.
  3. If you use your own lock to secure your items, invest in a durable one.
  4. Cars should always be locked with any valuables out of sight, or secured in the trunk.
  5. Adopt the approach of “If you see something, say something”. Tell a Y staff member if something appears out of place.
