Cycle for a Cause!

(Madison, NJ) March 11, 2015- Cycle for a Cause! The Madison Area YMCA and St. Baldrick’s Foundation will hold a 3-hour spinathon on Sunday, March 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Y’s Family Center.

Participants may register at the Madison Area YMCA Welcome Center. Cyclists are encouraged to collect pledges. Pledge forms are available at the Family Center’s Welcome Center and Fitness Center or at the F.M. Kirby Children’s Center. All proceeds donated to the event will be split 50/50 to help support St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund cancer research and the Madison Area YMCA’s Annual Fund to fund LIVESTRONG at the YMCA.

The cycling instructor schedule is as follows: Carey Ahsler will teach 9 a.m.-10 a.m.; Ashlee Hodge will teach 10 a.m.-11 a.m. and Karen Tom will teach 11 a.m.–12 p.m.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long, healthy lives.

The Y’s Annual Campaign is one of the ways that allows the Y to provide assistance to anyone who resides or works in Madison, Chatham and Florham Park. Support is provided based on demonstrated need, with the goal that no one be turned away from membership regardless of income or background. The Annual Campaign also helps the Y broaden its reach into initiating enriching community wellness and health-enhancing programs such as LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, the Community Mental Health Initiative, the Diabetes Prevention Program and Walk with Ease, our arthritis program.
