This year’s Madison Area YMCA Charity Golf Classic was the most successful event in the golf outing’s 18 year history. Through the extraordinary commitment and dedication of sponsors, 108 golfers and 50 volunteers including dedicated Golf Event Committee members and YMCA staff, more children than ever before will experience the magic of YMCA summer camp.

An astounding 85 weeks of camp were sponsored during the event in addition to the weeks of camp awarded through the proceeds of the regular auction and silent auction items at the evening “Camp for One, Camp for All” dinner reception.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch was the presenting sponsor of the Charity Golf Classic. Citi Global Markets, Gary’s Wine & Marketplace, JP Morgan, Madison Honda and The MCJ Amelior Foundation were also major sponsors of the charity tournament.

The second place foursome included Greg Moon of Eastchester, NY, Jeff Anderson of Jersey City and Peter Ver Dorn of Verona. Dennis Delesio of Maplewood and Ann Smith of Chatham won the Closest to the Pin contests. Wes Peter of Parlin and Lynn Mantz of Middletown won Closest to the Line contests. Matt Smith of Morristown and Marie Slate of Morristown won Longest Drive contests.

Last year’s charity event funded 246 weeks of Madison Area YMCA summer camp in addition to providing YMCA financial assistance for local areas children and families for YMCA membership, programs and childcare. 100% of the proceeds from this year’s Charity Golf Classic will again make Y summer camp, membership, childcare and enriching YMCA programs available to children and families who require funding assistance to participate, helping to ensure that local children in need may attend YMCA day camps for structured, supervised learning, recreation and good, summer fun!

The Charity Golf Classic is an influential fundraising event for the Madison Area YMCA’s Annual Fund. The Annual Fund enables hundreds of children and families to participate in Y membership, innovative programming, wellness initiatives and services including child care, early childhood education and summer camps at the Madison Area Y’s Family Center and renowned F.M. Kirby Children’s Center.

Please contact Golf Event Manager Chelsea Creo at ccreo@madisonymca.org or call 973-822-9622 ext. 2266 if you are interested in sponsoring the 2016 Charity Golf Classic. Visit the Y’s website at madisonareaymca.org for more information.
