86 million Americans have prediabetes; only 10 percent even know they have it. Without changing their lifestyles, 15 to 30 percent of this population will develop Type 2 diabetes within five years.
At the forefront to combat the disease, the Y’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a “lifestyle change” program that helps adults at high risk for developing Type 2 diabetes, reduce their risk by taking steps that will improve their overall health and well-being.
Please call Diabetes Prevention Program Coordinator Ellen Kranefuss at 973.822.9622 x2310 if you are interested in learning more about the class.
