Madison Area YMCA 2016 Annual Charity Golf Classic Winners!

(Madison, NJ) June 10, 2016–The Madison Area YMCA’s 19^th Annual Charity Golf Classic was a great success. Through the extraordinary commitment of sponsors, 108 golfers and more than 40 volunteers including 11 ADP associates as well as dedicated Golf Event Committee members and YMCA staff, more children than ever before will experience the magic of YMCA summer camp.

More than 93 weeks of camp were sponsored during the event in addition to the weeks of camp awarded through the proceeds of the regular auction and silent auction items at the evening “Camp for One, Camp for All” dinner reception. 

Citigroup Global Markets was the presenting sponsor of the Charity Golf Classic.

ASCO, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Gary’s Wine & Marketplace, The Gilfillan Family, Jefferies & Co., LLC, JP Morgan Chase, Linde, Hansen & Co., LLC, Madison Honda, The MCJ Amelior Foundation, The Peer Group, PGIM Real Estate, Premier Graphics and Wells Fargo Insurance Services Northeast, Inc. were also major sponsors of the charity tournament.

The second place foursome included Matt Meyers from Hoboken, Steve Oliveira from Hoboken, Madison Area YMCA Board Member Kevin Smith from Madison and James Glen from Millburn.

Matt McKeon from Mt. Arlington won Closest to the Pin. Norman Lewis from Madison and Michelle Kean from Chatham won Closest to the Line. Greg Moon from Jackson Heights, NY, and Oh-Mee Howard from Chicago, IL, won Longest Drive.

Last year’s charity event funded 320 weeks of Madison Area YMCA summer camp in addition to providing YMCA financial assistance for local areas children and families for YMCA membership, programs and childcare. 100% of the proceeds from this year’s Charity Golf Classic will again make Y summer camp, membership, childcare and enriching YMCA programs available to children and families who require funding assistance to participate, helping to ensure that local children in need may attend YMCA day camps for structured, supervised learning, recreation and good, summer fun! 

The Charity Golf Classic is an influential fundraising event for the Madison Area YMCA’s Annual Fund. The Annual Fund enables hundreds of children and families to participate in Y membership, innovative programming, wellness initiatives and services including child care, early childhood education and summer camps at the Madison Area Y’s Family Center and F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area YMCA.
