Fit for the Fairway:Get Golf Ready: Wednesday, April 12; 6:30-7:30 p.m. Dr. Paul Kochoa, PT, DPT, OCS, CGFI will present a free seminar discussing components of the golf swing and the body-swing connection. He will cover topics like the causes of swing faults, movement tests, corrective exercises, how to improve your swing, and how physical therapy can help. Dr. Kochoa is a certified golf medical professional. If you want to know how to improve your game and lower your scores, all the while staying healthy and injury free, then this free seminar is for you.
Modern-Day Cross Training to Improve the Young Athlete: Monday, April 24; 6:30-7:30 p.m. Dr. Nicholas Matthes, PT, DPT, CSCS will present a free seminar discussing up-to-date training techniques to get the most out of your young athletes and keep them safe. Topics range from a proper warm up to preventing common injuries including shoulder sprains and ACL tears. Young athletes, parents and coaches are welcome to participate and learn how to get the most out of training.
Neck Pain: You have It & What To Do About It: Monday, May 1: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Dr. Michelle Millner will present a free seminar discussing common causes of neck pain, the impact of posture and simple strategies to manage neck pain.
Hanging in the Balance: Advanced Drills & Activities To Improve Stability: Wednesday, May 17; 10:15-11:00 a.m. Karen Tom, MPT, CSCS will present a 10-minute lecture describing the mechanisms of balance, followed by a 30-minute session of balance exercises. Learn to improve balance, agility and confidence in activities in daily living and sports performance.
Tennis Injury Prevention Seminar: More Than Just Tennis Elbow: Thursday, May 18; 6:00-7:00 p.m. Dr. Miriam Hillman PT, DPT, CKTP will present a discussion focusing on the causes of overuse injuries and how to prevent them, when playing tennis. Additional topics include: The importance of an active warm up, core strengthening exercise and clarification between static versus dynamic stretching.
