Cynthia Lopez-Pettorino Joins the Madison Area YMCA as its Dietitian

(Madison, NJ) April 21, 2017 – The Madison Area YMCA is pleased to announce that Cynthia Lopez-Pettorino, RD, CDE, has joined its staff as a dietitian.

In the past 17 years, Ms. Pettorino has served as a dietitian/certified diabetes educator in several settings including diabetes educator at the Diabetes Center at Holy Name Medical Center’s Diabetes Center; Outpatient dietitian at Overlook Medical Center; Cardiac dietitian at Morristown Medical Center; Clinical Dietitian in cardiac surgery and pediatrics at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center; and cardiac nutritionist at Palisades Medical Center.

Ms. Pettorino earned dietetic and diabetes certifications at Wichita State University, University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Health Related Professions, Montclair State University and the State University of New York Rockland Community College. She received her B.S. from the State University of New York Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome NY.

Her professional affiliations include membership in the American Dietetic Association, Diabetes Care and Education, American Association of Diabetes Educators and Garden State Association of Diabetes Educators.

Ms. Pettorino enjoys spending time outdoors especially exploring new trails biking or hiking with her husband and 13-year-old daughter. She also enjoys dancing to Country Western Music or Latin music during Zumba class. Ms. Pettorino looks forward to the opportunity to help people in the community by creating diets designed “especially for you.”
