Tryouts for the Madison Area YMCA Gators and Lady Gators Travel Basketball Teams in October
(Madison, NJ) September 8, 2017- The Madison Area YMCA will hold tryouts for the Gators boys (U12 and U14) travel basketball program and the Lady Gators girls (U12 and U14) travel basketball program in October.
The Madison Area YMCA’s Gators are a successful and competitive travel basketball program. The teams will play in the New Jersey YMCA Basketball League and tournament.
Tryouts are Sunday, October 22, U12 5-6:30 p.m. and U14 6:30-8 p.m.; Tuesday, October 24, U12 6:15-7:45 p.m. and U14 7:45-9:30 p.m.; Thursday, October 26, U12 6:15-7:45 p.m. and U14 7:45-9:30 p.m.; Sunday, October 29, U12 5-6:30 p.m. and U14 6:30-8 p.m.
Please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate to the tryout. Information forms will be on hand at tryouts that must be filled out for players to participate. Regular season practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights. The number of teams formed will be based on turnout. The fee includes a team jersey. Teams will play games during the week and on weekends at the Madison Area YMCA gymnasium and other local Ys and outside organizations.
The Madison Area YMCA’s Lady Gators are very excited to be launching their first full season competitive travel basketball program for girls U12 and U14. Teams will play in The Garden State Basketball League and tournament.
Tryouts are Sunday, October 15, U12 5-6:30 p.m. and U14 6:30-8 p.m.; Monday, October 16, U12 6:15-7:45 p.m. and U14 7:45-9:30 p.m.; Wednesday, October 18, U12 6:15-7:45 p.m. and U14 7:45-9:30 p.m. All tryouts are at the Madison Area YMCA’s Family Center in the basketball gymnasium.

The Madison Area YMCA youth basketball program focuses on skill development, team work, fair play, sportsmanship and fun. Players learn and develop skills for the game along with game strategies and competition.
