Madison Area YMCA to Hold Diabetes Prevention Program Class Starting in July
(Madison, NJ) June 20, 2018 – The Madison Area YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is enrolling qualified candidates for its new class, which is tentatively scheduled to meet during daytime hours on Wednesdays beginning July 11 at the Madison Area YMCA Family Center at 111 Kings Road in Madison.
Some risk factors for prediabetes and diabetes include excess weight and inconsistent exercise. Visit www.madisonareaymca.org to take the risk assessment.
The program includes: 16 weekly sessions followed by 3 bi-monthly sessions, followed by 6 monthly sessions; Group format that offers motivation and support; Tools you need to make lasting changes. Program participation does not require a physician prescription or a YMCA membership.
86 million Americans have pre-diabetes, a condition that puts an individual at risk for being diagnosed with diabetes. The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program uses a CDC-approved curriculum and is part of the CDC-led National Diabetes Prevention Program.
