Give Your Child the Advantage of Kirby Kindergarten at the F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area YMCA

(Madison, NJ)January 24, 2019—Experience the Kirby Kindergarten difference. The F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area YMCA, located at 54 East Street, offers full-day academic kindergarten taught by a dedicated and caring teaching team with more than 10 years of experience teaching together. Registration for kindergarten and kindergarten wraparound (KWrap) is open now.

Using the same learning objectives as the public schools, the program utilizes two teachers resulting in a smaller teacher-to-student ratio, and a more individualized learning approach. Parents and district teachers have reported that Kirby Kindergarten students test and read above grade level 
by the end of the school year. Other benefits include: 

• Interactive learning with Chromebooks and the IPEVO Interactive Whiteboard System. Utilizing the latest technology, we bring advanced learning opportunities to the classroom.
• Accessibility of the teachers to parents. With three parent-teacher conferences throughout the year and a comprehensive report card that includes both academic and social development, our parents are well-informed about every aspect of their child’s learning.
• Enriched programming specials include: Spanish, music, computers, science and regularly scheduled trips to the Madison Public Library.
• Before- and after-care is available at the same location, allowing for seamless transitions and opportunities for learning to continue. After-care and KWrap students enjoy full-day programming when public schools are closed for breaks, holidays and weather-related closures (as long as the Kirby Center remains open). No-fee bussing is also available to and from programs at the Family Center including sports, gymnastics, enrichment, School of Performing Arts and Y Ninja Gym.

The F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area YMCA is one of the largest early childhood development centers and provides exceptional quality in child care and curriculum-based early childhood education for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, Young 5 students and kindergartners. As a former elementary school, the Kirby Center facility is specifically designed for children. Located on almost 3-acres of property, the Center has a full-size gym, full kitchen that serves snacks and meals, a pediatric registered nurse on staff and five state-of-the-art playgrounds to serve all age groups.

The F.M. Children’s Kirby Center is a member of the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance, a participating partner in the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey initiative to implement school-based food, nutrition and physical education programs and is also a flagship center for the Healthy U program which teaches preschool children the importance of physical activity and healthful nutrition. Financial assistance may be available for eligible families.
