Government Officials Guest Speakers
at Madison Chatham Coalition Meeting

(Madison, NJ) January 25, 2019 Madison Borough, Chatham Borough and Chatham Township government officials visited the Madison Chatham Coalition meeting last week to share the different initiatives that they are working on related to substance use in their respective towns, paying special attention to the possible legalization of recreational marijuana at the state level and the implications this would have on residents of Madison and the Chathams. At each monthly meeting, one of the Coalition’s 12 sectors in the community provides a "Sector Spotlight."

All three towns, with the support of the Madison Chatham Coalition, the Municipal Alliance Committee of the Chathams and the Madison Alliance Addressing Substance Abuse will come together in Feb. to host a series of Town Hall events. Through engaging the expert advice of physicians and pharmacologists, the goal of the series is to provide residents with fact-based information about marijuana.

The Madison Chatham Coalition is funded by the Office of National Drug Control Policy and is a collaborative partnership between the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America. Monthly meetings are held at the Madison Area YMCA, 111 Kings Road in Madison. For more information about the coalition, to find the monthly meeting schedule or to become a committee member, visit www.MadisonChathamCoalition.org or call 973-822-9622.
