The Madison Area YMCA’s 2nd Annual Celebration of Impact Barbecue Highlighted the Impact of the Y in Our Community

(Madison, NJ) June 28, 2019–The Madison Area YMCA’s Celebration of Impact Barbecue, held Sunday, June 23, drew more than 200 Y members, board members, donors, staff and friends to the grounds of the Family Center to highlight and celebrate the Y’s impact in the community.

Powerful stories shared during the event by Y members and health and wellness programming participants underscored the Y’s purpose—being accessible to everyone in the community whether it is for health and wellness needs, youth counseling, childcare and early childhood education or a sense of belonging.

Guest speaker Katherine Grieder shared how the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program helped her thrive after her cancer diagnosis. Beth Cocco, also a guest speaker, shared her family’s uplifting story of success that happened with the support and guidance of Project Community Pride, the Y’s youth counseling program.
