Anonymous Donor to Match Contributions to the Madison Area YMCA Facility Expansion Project Dollar for Dollar in “Groundbreaking Matching Gift Challenge”
(Madison, NJ) August8,2019–Now is the time to leave your legacy at the Madison Area YMCA. An anonymous friend of the Y has made an exciting and extraordinary commitment to match dollar for dollar, up to $250,000, every qualifying gift contributed to the Y’s multi-million-dollar Family Center expansion project. The Y will break ground on August 28. In honor of this event, the “Groundbreaking Matching Gift Challenge” is on from now through November 11.
To date, the community phase of the campaign has raised more than $750,000 which triggered the “Groundbreaking Matching Gift Challenge” offered by the anonymous donor who will match gifts from individuals, donor advised funds and family foundations.
“This is an incredible opportunity for community members to make a gift to the Y’s Capital Expansion project,” said Madison Area YMCA Board Chair Scot Guempel. “For an even bigger impact, we encourage individuals to seek employee matching gift programs and consider donating appreciated securities which will be matched. Together we can make our vision for the future of our YMCA a reality.”
The “Our Community Our Future” community fundraising campaign will help expand the Family Center and the Y’s program capacity to meet the growing needs of children, teens and adults of all ages for decades to come. The facility expansion project includes a new aquatics center with an 8-lane competitive pool and spectator section, a full-court/two side court basketball gymnasium and spectator areas, expanded fitness and wellness spaces, additional multi-use spaces, increased on-site parking, and a second entrance and lobby. Total gifts received to date for the expansion project amount to more than $6.65m.
Just as the generosity of community members of the past made the current facility possible, several options exist to leave your legacy that will serve our generation and the next. Gifts of any size are appreciated. Special opportunities in the Mosaic Path to the Future recognition program include nameplates: $1,000+ Bronze level; $2,500+ Silver level; $5,000+ Gold level and $10,000+ Platinum level. Additional naming opportunities are also available.
