Jr. NBA Visits Madison Area YMCA;
Register for Y Basketball Programs

(Madison, NJ) – August 16,2019–Jr. NBA, the league’s youth basketball participation program for boys and girls, came to the Madison Area YMCA for the second year in a row. On Aug. 14, more than 60 boys and girls ages 7-14 learned the fundamentals and values of the game during the NBA Basketball Clinic that was taught by 2019 NBA draftees.

The Jr. NBA visited the Madison Area YMCA for the second year in a row. 2019 NBA draftees, volunteer coaches and more than 60 boys and girls from the community participated in an NBA Basketball Clinic.

Basketball, which was invented at the YMCA more than 125 years ago, is offered all year round at the Madison Area YMCA. Be a part of the Y’s rich basketball tradition! The Y’s 2019-2020 basketball season kicks off in the fall with a 5-week pre-season basketball training on Tuesdays 5:30-6:30 p.m. for girls and boys in 5th– 8thgrades. The clinic is open to children, members and non-members, who would like to brush up on their skills before the season gets underway.

The Madison Area YMCA’s travel basketball teams Gators and Lady Gators will hold tryouts for the 2019-2020 season in the fall. Lady Gators’ tryouts for U12 (Grades 4-6) and U14 (Grades 7 & 8) are Mon., Oct. 14 and Wed., Oct. 16. U12 tryouts are from 6:30-8 p.m. and U14 tryouts are from 8-9:30 p.m. Gators’ tryouts for U12 (Grades 4-6) and U14 (Grades 7 & 8) are Sun., Oct. 20; Tues., Oct. 22; Thurs., Oct. 24 and Sun., Oct. 27. U12 tryouts are from 6:30-8 p.m. and U14 tryouts are from 8-9:30 p.m.

The fall session, which begins on Sept. 9, includes classes for 4-6 year olds and school age children (Kindergarten through 6thgrade).Y-Winners Basketball for grades K-3 will begin in the late fall session through the winter session.
