  Explore More: Register for Madison Area YMCA Late Fall 2019 Classes 

(Madison, NJ) – October 25, 2019 – Register for Madison Area YMCA Late Fall 2019 classes that begin on Mon., Nov. 18. Registration for Y members begins Tues., Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m. online and in person. Open registration begins Wed., Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. online or in person. 

Safety around water for all ages. The Aquatics department is offering 10-week sessions for children starting at 6 months old through 16. Private swim lessons are available for children 3 years old through adult. Classes also available for Special Needs children ages 3-12. The Madison Area YMCA swim team, the Mariners, offers a year-round opportunity for competitive swimming in both YMCA and USA Swimming for girls and boys from 6 years old through high school.

The Gymnastics department is offering 10-weeksessions for children of all ages. Parent/child classes are available for crawlers and toddlers. Gymnastics classes for preschoolers through teens are available as well as Boys’ classes. Competitive opportunities are available through participation on the Rosettes gymnastics team. 

The Gymnastics department is also offering Y Ninja Gym, a structured training program that is based on obstacle course training methodology that includes: strength and conditioning drills, specialty skill development (flips, rolls, jumps and kicks), tumbling, martial arts skills and mindfulness/meditation practices. This program is specifically designed to build coordination, motor control, conditioning, proprioception, body awareness, spatial awareness, agility and physical strength while developing self-confidence, teamwork and discipline. Classes are available for children 2—15 years old. 

The School of Performing Arts (SOPA) is offering 10-week sessions for children of all ages. Parent/child classes through school age, students can register for ballet, tap, hip hop, creative movement, jazz, modern, musical theatre, kids choir, junior Broadway song choir, drama, acting and Boys Combo (hip hop & tap). DanceAbilities, a new offering at SOPA, is a rhythm & hip hop 10-week program for kids 3-14 years old with learning differences and other special needs based on the groundbreaking Rhythm Works Integrative Dance Program.

The Sports department is offering 10-weeksessions for children of all ages from preschool through school age in sports including basketball, advanced basketball, Y-Winners basketball, advanced basketball, flag football, floor hockey, golf, karate, kinder karate, lacrosse, soccer, indoor soccer, t-ball, tennis, fun & games and sports & games. School age offerings include: Gators and Lady Gators travel basketball teams, karate and volleyball.

Enrichment & Family programming at the Y includes classes starting with parent/child classes through school age in a variety of subject matter including S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) for toddlers through 12 year olds. S.T.E.M. classes include Adventure LEGO, Learning Laboratory, Zoofari Adventures and Young Photographers. Classes are offered in other subject matter including: arts & crafts, cooking, baking, reading music, Healthy U and more. The Madison Area YMCA hosts birthday parties through most of its departments. Girl Scouts and Boys Scouts can also earn scouting badges.

Kids Central offers babysitting services for children starting at 3 months old. The Zone, the Madison Area YMCA’s tween area for children ages 8 through 11, has games, books, Xbox, Kinect, rock wall climbing and more! Drop-off programs are also available that allow parents to drop off their children and leave the facility for an extended period of time—you must book a reservation in advance.

Teen programs at the Y (ages 12-17) include: Mock Trial, Youth & Government, Teen Swim, Teen Gymnastics and Y Ninja Fit for Teens. Also available: Teen Center, Teen Scene, 7th Grade Initiative, Teen Leaders Club and Teen Task Force. 

For adults: Group exercise classes, indoor cycling group exercise classes and Small Group training (SGT). SGT classes include TRX Suspension Training, Pilates Reformers, Flex and Press and Pilates MOTR. Personal Training also available. Adult/teen aquatics, adult/teen sports, adult/teen karate, adult/teen fitness, adult/teen performing arts classes available. New: Restorative Yoga, Personal Training “Commit to Be Fit” program, Healthy Weight Loss program and Masters Swimming. See www.madisonareaymca.org for all class descriptions.
