Still Planning Summer for Your Kids?
The F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area Y Has Camp Openings!

(Madison, NJ) June 26, 2019– Are you still planning your children’s summer activities? Summer camp spots are available in Camp Wantago at the F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area YMCA located at 54 East Street in Madison. Full-day camp for children entering kindergarten through 2nd grade offers weekly themes, swim lessons, group activities and field trips. Every week is an adventure!

July 1-5: Discover America Week-Discover the land we call home. Celebrate everything red, white and blue as we learn about hometown heroes and explore national monuments. Special field trip to Space Farms makes this a week not to be missed. (No camp July 4).

July 8-12: Every Day is a Holiday-Campers will learn about holidays around the world and celebrate Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas. Also includes a field trip to Liberty Science Center.

July 15-19: Blast from the Past-Time travel through the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s with fun and exciting activities. A field trip to Tomahawk Lake makes this week a blast.

July 22-26: DIY Art-Kids prepare their palettes, grab their smocks and get messy in “Do it Yourself Art” week as they explore, express themselves and create their way through camp with hands-on projects. Campers will mold their own sculpture, tie-dye t-shirts, paint pet rocks and more.

July 29-August 2: Hawaiian Hoopla-What better way for kids to spend their week at camp than with a cool island vibe? Campers will learn summer fun and games and discover all the amazing things that make the Hawaiian Islands unique. They will learn to hula dance, create erupting volcanoes, play pass the coconut and play pineapple bowling.

August 5-9: Animal Planet-Mammals, insects, reptiles, OH MY! Explore wildlife and endangered species and learn how animals enrich the world. A field trip to Bushkill Falls rounds out this week of fun.

August 12-16: Drama-O-Rama-With their friends, campers create, plan and design the Camp Talent Show. From start to finish, campers have a role to play, including creating talent show posters, props and playbills. It’s a week to shine!

August 19-23: Good Eats-With an ode to Good Eats, America’s Test Kitchen, Cupcake Wars and Iron Chef, campers will don non-celebrity personas and blissfully bake, cheerfully chop and playfully pour their way through a combination of ingredients to delight anyone’s palate.

August 26-29: Summer Sign Off-This week is jam-packed with activities to help campers finish the summer with a splash—sharing favorite camp moments, exchanging friendship bracelets and saying farewell to summer 2019. (No camp August 30 and no field trip this week).
