(Madison, NJ) September 4, 2020 – Back to School season is always an exciting time for children of all ages with the thrill of reuniting with friends, meeting new classmates and exploring new horizons. Children at the F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area YMCA experienced just that as the Center held its official “First Day of School” on Monday, August 31.

Center Director Karé Matrisciano asserts that “With a unique year ahead and a classroom structure based on guidelines from the CDC, Office of Licensing and local health department, teachers at Kirby understand the importance of welcoming new and returning families in a way that encourages the same back to school excitement as in past years. To optimize each student’s educational and social development, teachers prepare one-of-a-kind, engaging lessons that promote creative learning while weekly themes encourage students to learn through structured activities that maintain social distance, and other health-related guidelines.”

Teachers at Kirby strive to make the transition to a child care setting as smooth as possible for both the child and their parents. With benefits including educational and developmental advancement, a child care and early childhood education campus, and dedicated, highly skilled staff, Kirby provides a learning environment unlike any other. Four age-appropriate playground areas ensure children remain active throughout the day and continue to learn and socialize while outdoors.

This week marks the beginning of a fun-filled and educational school year at the Kirby Center. The goal of all teachers and staff is to allow a safe, educational, and fun place for children ages six weeks to five years old to grow, learn and play.
